June 2025 global temperatures were about +0.98°C warmer than 1901 - 2000 base period averages; June temperature anomalies increased by ↑+0.05°C / year on average over the last 5 years.

Washington DC has been absolutely unbearably hot this year. June District area temperatures hit 90+°F at least 10 times, and max humidity was over 80% almost every day of the month. Globally, June was the 3rd hottest June on record (June 2024 and 2023 were the 1st and 2nd hottest on record), but the good news is that June 2025 was actually significantly cooler than the previous two record-setting years. I’m going to go ahead and predict that 2025 will be the 2nd hottest year on record… Right behind 2024.
